I was hoping for a different story but it is the same . Girl meets guy after being in a horrible relationship . Guy turns around and has sex with a nut whom he can't let go . Girl puts all of her self respect aside for love . Parts of the book left me confused .
The only reason why I didn't give it five stars was due to some parts being a lil confusing.. But overall the book was good.... I wanted to jump inside and beat that mother ass and that stupid bitch Destiny got on my nerves.. Like bitch home boy was never ur man... And that Jahleah chick boy oh boy... I hope they kill Meek Coke head ass... I need part2 ASAP!!
A bit confusing but overall a good read. I HATE Nique mom and I'm glad she got killed. I hope Meek & Crystal get theirs next. Ja'Leah gonna be a problem and I hate that jacion didn't strap up because that fool might come back pregnant. Although jacion messed up they technically weren't together so I don't blame him. Thankfully Cedes know who she want. Zion meeting his daughter and killing for her just made the book that much sweeter. Can't wait for part 2
Love the storyline but it seem a little rushed. Mercedes and zonique are bffs and all they have is each other. A night out for them turns bad when they lay on his Meeks baby mama crystal but jacion and Tyler step in. Cedes tired of meek takes a chance with jacion. Nique is a strong woman to deal with Tasha ole drunk self as a mother but meeting Tyler he shows her better. Bitter ex and set ups comes to play but who's left standing ready for the next book
I enjoyed this book. Some may not like reading about a woman going through a bad relationship and then ending up with someone only to go through almost the same thing, and although that happened in this book it wasn't necessarily the same. Yes one of the characters went through the cheating twice, but the second time was different. They weren't together when he did him. He was wrong for what he did because he knew what she went through in the past, but he also left her because he felt she didn't know who she wanted. I felt so bad for Zonique. Her mother wasn't ish and I really could not stand her. She chose to try to trap a man and since it didn't work she took it out on her daughter whom didn't deserve that treatment. It seems like the only good that came out of things was Tyler. I loved him and Jacion even though Jacion did what he did. I would definitely like to find out more about this Zion and his other kids. This was overall a good read. Je'Leah is going to be a huge problem and I can't wait until last two to find out what happens because that ending left me with my mouth open!! Hopefully book two will bring families together and the girls will get the love that they deserve!!
It was alright for her first book but it was a bit confusing. It started out in third person and then switched to first. Then the issue with the age because the story started with Zonique being 19 but about to celebrate her 21st birthday. Mercedes and Zonique were good girls for the most part and always had each others back. They were ready for whatever but a few of the situations they should've walked away from. Meek needed to accept the fact he messed things up and let Mercedes go so she could be happy. Tyler and Jacion were some good dudes and I liked them from the beginning. Jacion should've handled things differently because his stupidity almost caused him to lose a good thing. Destiny was beyond thirsty! She got everything she deserved because she should've just took it as a loss. Tasha simple ass was too pressed for someone who didn't want her and the way she treated her daughter wasn't good at all. As far as Leah I hope she gets everything she deserves for the role she played. I would read part 2 and I can't wait to see how things pan out and if Meek and Crystal get their karma for all the trouble they've caused.
Love Won’t Let Me Go is a love story x2. It revolves around two best friends Zonique and Mercedes. These two friends are pretty much all each other has although Zonique technically has her mother that mistreats her and Mercedes has her boyfriend who cheats on her quite frequently. Ironically the friends meet two male best friends, Tyler and Jacion, who seem to be a breath of fresh air for the both of them. The girls appear to finally get their “happily ever after” but a few people are not ok with this and will do whatever they can to get in the way. The storyline itself was fast-paced and entertaining.
I gave this book 3 stars as there were quite some editing issues that could not be ignored such as name mix-ups and pov confusion. Additionally, the timeline details are unclear and the story began in third person and switched to first person through the book. This did not stop me from reading but I had to go back to ensure I understood what was taking place.
For this being the author’s first novel, she did an okay job. I would recommend this read to any reader of urban fiction who like books that revolve around relationship drama and friendships. I look forward to reading the second installment as this author ended with a cliffhanger.
